Edgar is the butler to Madame Adelaide Bonfamille, an elderly, wealthy woman with no family who lives in Paris in 1910 with her cat, Duchess, and her three kittens. Upon learning that the felines are set to inherit Madame's fortune, Edgar plots to get rid of them so that he can become the sole beneficiary.
A tall, middle-aged man with a receding hairline, fair skin, dark gray hair, black eyes, and a snub nose. He wears a black bowler hat (sometimes), a white shirt with a black bow tie, a red armband with pink lace on each arm, a maroon vest, a very dark brown tailcoat, gray trousers with belt loops and pink suspenders, yellow boxers with vertical orange stripes, black socks with red garters, and black shoes with gray spats.
