Marlow Roderick was a vampire in the service of an elder named Vicente. In 2002, Marlow learned of an isolated region known as Barrow, in the U.S. state of Alaska. For thirty days each year—from November 18 to December 17—the entire town is plunged into a freezing, endless night without sunlight, making it a perfect hunting ground for any vampire.
Except for his extremely dilated pupils, pointed teeth, sharp fingernails, and use of a language that only vampires understand, Marlow could pass for an ordinary human.
Fangs, superhuman strength.
