Natives of the arid planet Yautja Prime, the Yautja (better known as "Predators") constitute a polytheistic, tribally governed civilization that boasts highly advanced technology for traveling the cosmos and hunting other species.

A large, heavy-set humanoid creature standing just over two meters tall and weighing less than 200 kilograms. It possesses thermal vision, a crown of capillary-like tubes hanging from its head resembling dreadlocks, sharp blackish claws, scaly brown skin with dark undertones, movable cruciform mandibles, phosphorescent green blood, acute hearing, and remarkable leaping ability. Males are taller and more robust than females; the latter have more developed mammary glands and are responsible for raising and training their offspring in the art of the hunt. Their gear typically consists of a biomask (equipped with a respirator, laser sight, various vision modes, zoom, and other functions), thermal mesh, a wrist-mounted computer, a camouflage cloak, a medical kit, and various metal plating. Possessing a strong sense of honor, the creature hunts specimens of alien races—including humans—to prove its worth to its peers and claim their skulls as trophies.
